I chose this career for the love of solving complex business problems by using data, analytics, and machine learning.
What does your typical day entail?
Checking in with the team, progress to working on the project at hand, code-code-code-code-code-code-code and more coding.
What are the highlights and challenges of your role?
The highlights are when we can deliver a product that benefits the organization and team.
The challenges arise from almost anywhere. Currently, migrating to new AWS platform. We as data scientist are constantly being challenge by new concepts, techniques, and modern advancements in technology (AI) and machine learning.
How do you keep up to date with all the changes in your field of work?
We have a 4-hour slot booked out in our calendar that allows learning and development. This slot provides us the necessary time to focus on anything and everything we want to learn whether it is organizational or personal development.
What do you enjoy doing outside of the office?
My main hobby is pool & snooker (billiards). Second to that, I like gaming.
