What degree did you study at university?

North West University.MSc in Business Mathematics and Informatics with specialization in Business Analytics, BSc Honours in Business Analytics, BSc in Actuarial Science.

What is your role at RMB?

I am a Technology and Operations graduate.

Can you tell us why you chose this career?

I rotate in 4 teams (Engineering, Enablement, Data management and Data analytics) within Technology and Operations. I am currently in the Data Management space.

As graduates, we get exposure to different teams and their style of work. we also get a chance to upskill ourselves by getting exposure to other fields as well.

• I got a chance to write a specification document during my engineering rotation

• I worked with client data in enablement to draw insights from it

What’s a typical day like in your job?

• Networking and building relationships.

• Udemy courses.

• Doing tasks/projects assigned to me.

What are the some of the highlights and challenges of your role?

Challenges

• As a graduate, it is hard to navigate the new world of work.

• build and maintain work relationships in this new world of work. Nonetheless, a lot of support is given.

Highlights:

• being able to use my analytical skills to help solve business problems.

• Having monthly meeting with head of Engineering.

• Getting exposure to different teams has allowed me to be flexible (I am not limited to work related to what I have studied in university).

How do you keep up to date with all the changes in your profession?

Getting more involved with the team and researching.

What do you enjoy doing for fun outside of the office?

• Gym

• Spending time with loved ones

• Video games
