Can you tell us why you chose this career?
Growing up I have always had a strong inclination towards technology and loved playing with appliances in the house until I was introduced to programming and new technologies, that became my new hobby later I fell in love with systems and decided to take on a career in information systems.
What’s a typical day like in your job?
In the digital academy we invest a lot of time gaining the required knowledge before doing the actual work to ensure the highest quality of results. Therefore, it’s a combination of learning new concepts in theory and applying them.
What are the some of the highlights and challenges of your role?
The biggest highlight and challenge is definitely working virtually. However, Sanlam has put enough support to ensure that all its employees can work effectively and efficiently reducing anxious events
How do you keep up to date with all the changes in your profession?
I am constantly reading on the latest technology that has been developed and I empower myself with short online courses in my spare time
What do you enjoy doing for fun outside of the office?
I am a very active individual therefore I enjoy hiking and playing indoor soccer or just grabbing a drink with friends.
