BSc (Hons) Actuarial Science, Wits University.

What is your role at RMB?

Graduate Data Analyst/Scientist.

Can you tell us why you chose this career?

Interested in pursuing a career in data science.

What’s a typical day like in your job?

I am in the data products team so my typical day involves extracting insights from the data to see if it will be of value for the product we are looking to create for clients.

What are the some of the highlights and challenges of your role?

Highlights: finding meaningful insights from the data and making breakthroughs.

Challenges: hitting brickwalls (the converse of the highlights).

How do you keep up to date with all the changes in your profession?

I have registered for udemy courses and other free courses that expose me to existing knowledge in the field that I currently lack, as well as changes in the field that arise. I also read articles that relate to the work I am doing so I am continuously learning.

What do you enjoy doing for fun outside of the office?

I enjoy playing soccer with friends; I enjoy reading a good book; I am a religious person so I learn religious texts every day.
