Graduate Trainee Collections Analytics Secured Lending Cluster

Why did you choose this career?

I have a passion for finance and risk management. Banking is an exciting and innovative area for future actuaries to work in and I feel that it is the perfect fit for me.

What does your typical day entail?

I spend a typical day addressing collections issues sent to the collections analytics team and discussing how to solve problems with other team members. SAS and SQL have become essential for me day-to-day.

What are the highlights and challenges of your role? 

I get a lot of support from my team and the work I do excites me. Challenges: Understanding the large data systems which we use is difficult and requires constant consultation with many of my colleagues.

How do you keep up to date with all the changes in your field of work?

I try to keep up with the news and current affairs and I am working towards upskilling myself by studying for actuarial board exams and doing Udemy courses.

What do you enjoy doing outside of the office?

I enjoy catching up with friends, running and anything to do with driving cars – in real life or in simulations.
